How to Order a Prescription Clip-In for Skiing and Snowboarding Goggles

Clip In’s are become increasingly popular for those of us who need to wear prescription eyewear for skiing. In the past, many chose to buy OTG (Over The Glasses) skiing goggles. These have the benefits of not requiring a prescription insert, but often at the expense of having a limited choice of OTG goggles that are uncomfortable to wear with glasses inside them and at the risk of damaging your expensive glasses during a fall.

Now, clip-in inserts have become cheaper to buy, are lighter, more comfortable and incorporate lenses that are much larger than your glasses providing better vision. This all helps to achieve our goal of being more aware of our surroundings on the slope and improving our skiing performance!

If you require a clip-in prescription, here is our guide on how to order your Clip-In through our site:

There are two ways of ordering them. One if you need to pick out the goggles, clip-in and prescription or two if you have the goggles and want to buy just the clip-in with prescription.

1. How to Order your Goggles, Clip-In and Prescription

Firstly click on Goggles on the menu bar and then the skiing and snowboarding category from the 'Sports/Activity under the 'Search by' on the left of the page.

Next on the ‘Search by…’ tool bar on the left side of the page click the ‘Need Prescription’ and then in the drop down menu click ‘Clip-in to Frame’ as shown left. This will immediately show you all the goggles that can take a clip-in.

Then next you just go through the list as you would normally and pick out your ski goggles. Once you've found the one you like click on it and it should look like this below. Click on the 'Prescription available' icon.

This will take you to a page that looks this (Above). Once you’ve chosen the clip in prescription package you want, click on the  'Add to Basket'. Here, if you haven’t already, you will be asked to either sign in or register.

After registering or signing in you will be directed to a page similar to the one on the right.

As you can see there is an option here to 'Buy Clip-In only' At this stage, if you only want the clip-in you can select this option and it will only add the clip-in to your basket.

On this menu, you can choose what it is you want to use your prescription for (such as reading a map or looking at things in the distance) and click on ‘clear’ lens tint. Most people require either the distance vision option or bifocal.

Next you will be taken to a page where you can fill in all your prescription details. Fill in all the information needed (note not all of it will be relevant to you and your prescription so don’t panick if you don’t have all the information to fill all the boxes).

Click ‘Save Details’. This will make sure the next time you come to buy a prescription (unless your prescription changes) you won’t need to go through that again.

Alternatively, click on ‘Accessories’ on the tool bars across the top and then ‘Universal Prescription Inserts for Ski & Snowboarding Goggles
